CEO of Tollisan, pharmacist and specialist in regulations and registrations

In mid-2025, Ilse Verstraeten moved from the company Comed to Tollisan. Even before that, she had already been assisting Tollisan with complex procedures and administrative processes. Whether it concerned new products and their composition in accordance with animal feed legislation, labeling requirements, or the opening of the new company building together with the related pharmaceutical documentation, Ilse’s extensive knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical sector, combined with her thorough expertise in regulations and quality management, make her indispensable to a veterinary company such as Tollisan.

Ilse Verstraeten simultaneously serves as CEO, Responsible Person, and QPPV at Tollisan.

In 1997, she obtained her Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She then began her career as a responsible pharmacist at the Antwerp-based company Manuchar, which specializes in the international import and export of medicines. There, Ilse developed extensive expertise in international trade and registration dossiers within a strictly regulated environment.

Alongside her experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she also remained closely connected to pharmacy practice. For ten years, she ran her own pharmacy.

In 2015, Ilse moved into the animal health sector at Comed. There, she specialized in complementary feeds for pigeons and became closely acquainted with pigeon racing through daily contact with pigeon fanciers — naturally also at pigeon fairs and exhibitions.

At the same time, Ilse Verstraeten has also served, and continues to serve, as QPPV and Responsible Person for GDP for other companies in the areas of pharmacovigilance and the distribution of human medicines.

Today, Ilse Verstraeten brings all this complex knowledge of medicines, feeds, regulations, registrations, and more to Tollisan. Driven by her passion for innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship, she is steering Tollisan toward a successful future.

If the term “workaholic” truly and positively applies to someone, then without a doubt the name Ilse Verstraeten must be mentioned.
