Recup Electrolyte Balance helps your breeding pigeon to restore the balance.
The use of electrolytes in pigeons has been adopted from the human sports world. However, products from human use cannot always be easily transferred to animals.
Humans sweat during exercise and lose salts and electrolytes through their sweat glands. Therefore, athletes must replenish this loss with electrolytes, restoring balance quickly.
Those who simply transfer this to pigeons forget that pigeons do not have sweat glands! Have you ever seen a pigeon returning from a race flight heavily sweating?
If pigeons did have sweat glands, their feathers would certainly be wet and sticky after a demanding flight. As is well known, pigeons with wet feathers fly poorly. Evolution has responded by wisely not equipping pigeons with sweat glands.
The truth is: in racing flights, pigeons mainly experience protein loss (weight loss) and only minimal electrolyte loss. The protein loss must be quickly compensated with high-dose amino acids such as Nano Tollyamin, Med. Tollyamin Forte or Tollisol Plus, as well as a high-quality animal protein product such as Immunol.
However, within poultry farming there is a meaningful use of electrolytes, applied to hens that lay eggs daily. In this case, electrolyte supplementation is unavoidable.
For breeding pigeons, which over several years lay multiple rounds of eggs annually and raise young birds, electrolyte supplementation would be highly beneficial. Many breeding hens would otherwise feel dry and stiff after a few years, as electrolyte deficiency during egg formation is compensated by the breakdown of minerals from their own skeletal system. Nature designed this to protect the egg from deficiencies. However, nature could not foresee that pigeon enthusiasts would build lofts and keep breeding pigeons to lay eggs like chickens.
This is also why our new special formulation is dosed 30 times higher than conventional electrolyte mixtures. The administration of Recup Electrolyte Balance will also prevent excessive dampness in the nest of young pigeons, which increases from the second breeding round onward. You may have previously noticed how moist the droppings in the nest of young pigeons are. This moisture is mainly caused by an imbalanced electrolyte status (metabolic disorder).
